Rachel Smith McInnis, age 90, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on August 22, 2026. She was born in Collierville, Tennessee on May 4, 1936 to the late Ananias and Ora Lee Smith.

Rachel is also preceded in death by her brothers Verdsee Smith, Jimmy L. Smith, Odell Smith, and Arthur Smith; sisters Dorothy Tolor and Beatrice Lucas; and her husband Reverend Johnny L. McInnis.

She leaves behind her brothers Elbert Smith (Ida Mae) and Jesse James Smith; sisters Mary Elizabeth Niter (Atris) and Wigilia Smith; five children Pamela P. Wiseman, Marilyn Y. Smith, Michael G. Smith, Shawn McInnis, and Kimberly Brumfield (Quardrick); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored.

She worked for the airlines in Memphis as a cook for Cisco foods. She later transitioned into working a cleaning business for 45 years. She was married to the late Reverend Johnny L. McInnis.

Rachel was a servant leader and a Sunday school teacher for nearly 30 years. She lived for traveling with her kids and grands, and she chaperoned youth for their events for the local church. She enjoyed playing music, cooking and cleaning her home, and she loved to bake for church members. She was always the best dressed. Everyone was welcomed in her home, and she never met a stranger.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11:00am at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ; 117 W. Maryland Ave, Sherwood, AR 72120.
