Tony David Ply, 77, of the Austin area in Lonoke County went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Greystone Health and Rehab in Cabot, Arkansas.

Ply was born February 19, 1949 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Gladys Pettit Ply and Eugene Ply.

He was reared in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and attended Dollarway Schools. He joined the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart, combat action ribbon, a national defense service medal, Vietnamese cross of gallantry, and a Vietnamese campaign medal with service and another Vietnamese campaign medal with stars. After his service in USMC, he joined the Air Force Guard where he later retired. After retirement, Ply worked for the City of Jacksonville and the City of North Little Rock. He was also a Mason.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda May Ply; sons Jaymes Ply (Stacey) and Christopher Ply (Amanda); daughters Elisabeth Paige Ply-Davis (Woodrow) and Tammy Ply-Peters; three stepchildren Monica Monk-Harrill (Duncan), Emily Monk-VanWinkle, and Brooke Monk-Franks; 7 grandchildren and 8 step-grandchildren.

Ply was preceded in death by his mother and father and two sisters Barbara Gene Bramble of Birmingham, MO and Judy Ply Vanlandingham of White Hall.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 9:30am with the funeral service at 10:30am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. Interment will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock with miliary honors.
