Christopher Anthony Johnston, age 62, of Sherwood, Arkansas passed away August 25, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in El Paso, Texas on July 29, 1964 to James E. Johnston and Guillermina Salinas Johnston.

Christopher was loved by all who knew him. If he met you once, he remembered you for life. He had a remarkable gift for making people feel instantly comfortable, as though they had known him forever. He was quick to lend a helping hand, to show love, and to stand up for the people he cared about. He loved deeply, protected fiercely, and lived with a loyalty that never wavered. His heart was big, his love was genuine, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Guillermina Salinas Johnston; his mother‑in‑law, Sylvia Nosic; and his grandmother, Sonoma Hartley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Johnston 31 years together; his father, James E. Johnston; his children Kristen Hamblin (Chris), Michael Johnston (Alexius), Michele Fordyce (Joey), and Matthew Hodges (Gina); his grandchildren Talin, Bentlee, Skyler, Jaxon, Luke, Maddox, Aspyn, Audry, and Axel; his siblings Mario, Joe, Carol, and James David; and nieces and nephews Jessica, Amber, Rome, Cheyenne, Isabella, Nick and Mickey. He also leaves behind numerous other beloved family members and friends.

His pallbearers will be Joseph Johnston, James D. Johnston, Michael Johnston, Joseph Fordyce, Mark Hermes and Ronnie Humphrey.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. Graveside will follow on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 9:00am at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
