Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Hans Joseph Peterson, age 56, of Mayflower, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his home during the early morning hours of August 21, 2026. He was born to Ted and Hattie Peterson in Chicago, Illinois but as a young child moved to Maumelle, Arkansas.

Hans spent many proud years as an electrician and loved to point out different projects he helped on. Eventually he chose to settle down as a master electrician for Camp Robinson Military Base where he medically retired in 2022.

He is preceded in death by his mother Hattie Peterson; and nephew; Ted Eric Peterson, one aunt; Patsy Contos and two uncles; Richard and Burl Yielding.

He is survived by his father Ted Peterson, Daughter; Amberley (Josh) Purvis, Son; Hans (Alyssa) Peterson, Brother; Ted (Kathey) Peterson, Niece Kalynn (Jordan) Morrison. Grandchildren; Taytlee Purvis, William Moore, Christopher Purvis, Emilia Purvis, Oliver LaFleur, Hope LaFleur, Hansen Peterson, Anna LaFleur, Hudson Peterson, Hayden Purvis, Ella LaFleur, Great nephew; Case Morrison.

Hans cared deeply for his family and his lifelong best friend, Christine Smith who, along with her daughter, Lexi (Cullen) LaFleur, helped care for Hans up until the very end.

Hans was an avid outdoorsman and volunteered his time frequently helping the Oak Grove Hornets Youth Football program for many years. He was a hard worker who always showed up for his people and his memory lives on within the many lives he touched. A celebration of life will be held September 5th to honor the legacy that he has left behind.

    Hans was one of the best men I’ve ever known. I was lucky enough to have married him and had a daughter that we both cherish so much. He also gave me the son I never had for which I’m forever grateful. Thank you for all the wonderful years of friendship and love. You will forever be in my heart and be missed
