Jerry Edward McCulley (Mac or Jerry Mac), 85, was a beloved husband, father (Dad), grandfather (Pepa), and great-grandfather (Papa Jerry). He passed away on September 16, 2026, surrounded by the ones he loved most.  This obituary will never be able to accurately sum up the ineffable qualities that connected Jerry to so many.

Born on February 2, 1941 in Vernon, Texas to Edward and Minnie McCulley, Jerry was the baby of the family with sixteen brothers and sisters born before him. His life is a testament to strength, fortitude, love, generosity, and the importance of family.

Jerry never met a stranger and always took care of others. He had the ability to make you feel known, loved, and seen.  He was always interested in how you were doing putting your needs before his own. He was stubborn, hardworking, and generous. He loved to sit and talk – whether it be about your day or about the latest ball game.

His charisma and personality served him well as a successful salesman over the years.  As a young man, Jerry joined the Marine Corp Reserves before being medically discharged.  He was a proud veteran, and he loved his country.  He worked tirelessly to give his family a better life and infinite opportunities.

Jerry’s love of music made up one of the essential parts of him. His voice was often mistaken for George Jones, and one of the things he loved most was singing with his family.  He was often found on the karaoke stage garnering cheers and calls for one more song.

But Jerry’s greatest love was his wife of 66 years, Vina. His world orbited around her and the family they built together. And what a beautiful family they created together. One full of love. Jerry never left any doubt that he loved his family and that he loved his wife more than anything. A love like theirs was one that set the bar for what marital love should be.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Vina, his three children Terry Hanks (Curtis), Kelly Wolf (Glenn) and Jason McCulley (Erin), his nine grandchildren: Kaycee Earich (Matt), Jerrick Claxton (Morgan), Karly Wolf, Dylan Wolf, Zach Claxton (Katie), Kilean McCulley (Ava), Liam McCulley, Bellamy McCulley, and Maranda O’Pry, and his fifteen great-grandchildren: Kyler, Joseph, Cruz, Maxwell, Rowan, Charlee, Georgie, Hagan, Quinn, Colbie, Waylon, Hayes, Levi, Ian and Vincent.

The family will hold a celebration of life for Jerry after the new year.  Jerry always was the life of the party so we hope everyone can join us in celebrating his life like he deserves.
