Karen Jean Lawrence, daughter of the late Mary Peterson-Lawrence and Willie Joe Lawrence Sr., born on November 06, 1953, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she went home on September 21, 2026.

She was baptized at an early age at St. Luke Baptist Church. Later she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and joined Temple Church International under the leadership of Bishop Kevin L. Long, where she served in the Administration Ministry. In 2025 she returned to Jacksonville, Arkansas and reunited with St Luke Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Eric L. Alexander.

Karen attended ECPI College of Technology Medical Careers Institute where she received her Associate of Applied Science Health Science with a Major in Medical Assisting.

Sisters that preceded her in death were Estelle Lawrence-Piece, Vivian Lawrence-Bragg, Sadiyyah “Barbara” Lawrence, Andrea Lawrence-Brewer, and Sandra Lawrence-McNeil.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Corey Lawrence. Her special friend Bernard Boadi. 6 grandchildren Aspen, Akasha, Torey, Darius, Courtney, Jaylon Lawrence and 5 great grandchildren. Four brothers, Willie “Sonny” Lawrence of Jacksonville Arkansas, Richard (Ella) Lawrence of Maumelle, Arkansas, Kevin “Rodney” of Tucson, Arizona, Kenneth (Veronica) Lawrence of Foreny, Texas, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

A family-hosted celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Luke Baptist Church; 8205 Hwy 161, North Little Rock, AR 72117.
