Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One
In Loving Memory of Patricia Lavet Scott
April 29, 1969 – August 17, 2026

“Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.”
—John 5:28, 29

Patricia Scott, affectionately known as Trisha, was born on April 29, 1969, to Charles and Bernice Holmes. She passed away peacefully at home with her husband, Charles, by her side. Throughout her brave battle with cancer, Trisha faced her illness with incredible grace, supported unfailingly by her husband. They loved each other dearly.

Trisha grew up in North Little Rock with her family and friends. She graduated from Ole Main High School in 1987. One of her first jobs was as a dispatcher for J.B. Hunt Trucking. After she left, her supervisor was asked to provide a reference for her. He said, “If you were in a dark room, Trisha would be the light that would light up the room.”

Throughout her life and career, Trisha continued to be that light. She was known for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and warm hospitality that made everyone feel welcome. She was a true foodie with a passion for food, and whenever she thoroughly enjoyed something, it was unmistakably marked by her signature “mmmmmmmmmm.” She was also the master chef of her own creation, Holmes Bistro, where she hosted seven-course dinner parties.

Trisha was industrious and courageous, often working as many as four jobs at one time. She started the first Scoop Poop in Little Rock, even working during her lunch breaks. She also helped her mother clean houses and office buildings and worked as an executive assistant in banking for more than 30 years.

Trisha dedicated her life to her heavenly Father, Jehovah, on July 2, 1986. She faithfully served as a regular pioneer for many years and continued to talk to others about Jehovah until her death. Because of her love for Jehovah and her willing spirit, she participated in many theocratic activities throughout her life, among them sign language and the LDC.

Trisha is survived by her faithful husband, Charles, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; her daughter, Lauren Bailey Holmes Hendrix, of Little Rock, Arkansas; her father, Charles Holmes, of Kerr, Arkansas; her mother, Bernice Holmes, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; her brother, Greg Holmes (April Holmes), of Little Rock, Arkansas; her sister, Tanisha Hodges (Gregory Hodges); her nieces, Mya Bailey Holmes, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Jordyn Gabrielle Leigh Hodges, of Jackson, Mississippi; and Marleigh Jackson Hodges, of Oxford, Mississippi; and her nephew, Gregory Lance Hodges Jr., of Oxford, Mississippi.

Trisha will be deeply missed by all who loved her and by the many lives she touched. She loyally cared for and protected her family and was unwavering in her devotion to her parents. She took her responsibilities seriously and set a beautiful example as a Christian wife, reflecting the qualities described at Proverbs 31.

The family of Trisha Scott would like to express its heartfelt appreciation for the love, prayers, and many acts of kindness shown throughout her illness.

“Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.”

—2 Corinthians 1:3, 4

My Big Sister

Five years before I came along, Jehovah gave Mom and Dad you.

And from my earliest memories, your love was always so strong and true.

Before I knew what friendship meant, before I knew life’s way,

You were already by my side, my best friend from that very first day.

You carried yourself with such dignity, kindness, class, and grace.

You always made people feel welcome, with that Holmes smile you kept on your face.

Everything around you was always so neat and organized, each detail was done just right.

And if something wasn’t up to your standards, don’t worry about it… Trisha gone get it right!

Now, out in public—you’re gracious, calm; you always played your part.

But once those doors closed at home, you’d tell us all what was really on your heart!

And that’s the Big Sister that I love, so genuine and true.

You never had to wonder what Patricia truly thought of you.

You were the cook, the organizer; you made each meal such a treat.

Seven courses prepared with love, and everything was complete.

But you taught me more than recipes, more than just “how things should be done,”

You showed me dignity and strength and how to love and care for everyone.

For fifty-two years you’ve walked with me, through sunshine and through rain.

You’ve watched me win, you’ve watched me fall, you’ve seen my joy, tears, and my pain.

You saw the many faults in me, the mistakes that I would make.

But you never stopped loving your little brother, no matter what was at stake.

You were always my protector growing up, my example and my guide.

And through so many years of life, you’ve been by my side and always down to ride.

Now we face a road today we never wished to see.

But sickness cannot change the love you always had for me.

Cancer may weaken the body, but it cannot touch the heart.

And it cannot steal our fifty-two years or tear our love apart.

And death will never have the power to make our story end,

Because Jehovah has promised us we’ll see our loved ones again.

He remembers every part of you, your silly laugh and that Holmes smile.

So though we may be separated, it will only be for a little while.

I look forward to that beautiful day when “death will be no more!”

When I can wrap my arms around you and welcome you once more.

And knowing you, before too long, you’ll have something planned to do,

A meal to cook, a room to fix, and instructions for me too!

But Trisha, when that day arrives, I’ll gladly hear you say

All those things a big sister says to keep her little brother straight each day.

Until then, thank you for your love and for every year we’ve shared.

Thank you for protecting me and always showing me that you cared.

My first true friend. My protector. My teacher through the years.

The one who’s shared my laughter, my struggles, and my tears.

And though for just a little while we may have to be apart,

You’ll never really leave me because you’ll always fill my heart.

And when Jehovah calls your name and brings you back once more,

I’ll be there waiting, Patricia, just like so many times before.

So until that day, when Jehovah brings you back, my heart will always whisper,

I’ll forever be your lil brother! And you will forever be…

My Big Sister
