David Allan Martindale met his savior on October 20, 2021. He was born in Athens, GA on January 29, 1956 to the late Don and Johnnie Martindale. He graduated from William Byrd High School in Vinton, VA where he earned the distinction of Eagle Scout and formed a lifelong love for baseball.
David earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech, where he studied Architecture and Business Management. After college, he worked in several fields including draftsman, town manager, volunteer firefighter, and insurance salesman. He moved to Arkansas to be closer to family and began working in medical practice management, later founding his own company in the same field.
After David moved to Little Rock, he met the love of his life and his best friend, Ginia. They were married on September 30, 2001 and celebrated their 20th anniversary this year. They held hands as they faced the world together and loved each other deeply. In addition to his Ginia, David loved Jesus, his family, New Life Church, blues, jazz, and a good cigar.
David was a beloved fixture of New Life Church Greater Little Rock. He served with love, grace, vision and energy. His contagious laugh and encouraging spirit welcomed everyone who walked in the doors. He proudly graduated from New Life Church School of Ministry in 2020 and was invited to serve as a deacon at NLC GLR. David was influential in growing the men’s ministry and loved mentoring the next generation. David’s heart to serve was expressed in everything he did, from crawfish boils to Man Camp. David truly loved and served people like Jesus.
David leaves behind his beloved wife, Ginia, his daughters Sara/JD Martin of Conway, AR and her family, stepdaughters Stacy/Rich McMahan of Lavaca, AR and her family, Amy/Paul Upchurch of Lavaca, AR and her family, his brothers; Paul Martindale who travels America in his RV and his family, Jim/Mina Martindale of New Lothrop, MI and his family; and a multitude of beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. David will also be missed by his ‘girls’: fur babies Bandit and Gypsy.
A celebration of David’s life will take place at New Life Church Greater Little Rock on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 11:00 am
Arrangements are under the trusted direction of A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.

We will miss seeing his smiling face and his joy when he greeted you.
May our Heavenly Father wrap Hs loving arms of comfort around. You.
David and Ginia were one of the very first greeters I met when attending GLR, and I had the wonderful plea of serving alongside them many times for many events, and no matter the occasion, everything was done with love and grace as doing it for the Lord. David served faithfully until the very end. He definitely showed us how to finish the fight well.
David will truly be missed at NLC. He welcomed me on the welcome team and it was such a pleasure to serve a long side him. David was always pleasant, while greeting everyone with a warm welcome and smile. Praying for his family!
I will miss your smile and encouraging words and your proclamations of your love and faith in 5he Lord Jesus. Now you see clearly, face to face. Ginia, we will continue to love and pray for you daily. Hugs friend.
David is leaving a legacy of love! He loved like Jesus and now he gets to bask in God’s glorious Heaven!! He did that here on Earth as well and I’m honored to have called him friend. Our love for him goes deep and he will be greatly missed.
We loved David! My husband, Bill, grew close to David through the Men’s Ministry. He became my friend while serving with him at the Welcome Center, where I had the opportunity to interact with him, and observe him interacting with others. David met no strangers, and included everyone. He was indeed the hands and feet of Jesus.
May Ginia, his family and friends experience God’s perfect peace as his life is celebrated; and in the days, months and years to come.
praying for the Lord’s peace to be with you at this time-David was such a kind and giving man and will be truly missed
What a pleasure to know to know this man and spend time studying and growing with him at NLC School of Ministry and beyond. He always sat by me and had a love for the Father. His joy for the Lord was truly his strength! I never saw him without a smile or willing to have a servants heart. How happy he must be to be in heaven in the arms of Jesus. Prayers for his family who will miss his presence on earth. Until Jesus comes for us all, Peace come Holy Spirit.
Ginia, I am so sorry to hear about David … I pray Our Heavenly Father will wrap his loving arms around you and your family giving you comfort, peace and strength for the coming days. May God bless you 🙏🏻
My thoughts and prayers are with David’s and the Martindale family.
I can only imagine when David got to Heaven and Jesus Christ Our Lord and Saviour greeted him in Heaven. Like David and Ginia greeted people to New Life Church. And, the joy of Davis being in Heaven where God our Father in Heaven. And, the other Angels are who have gone before us. My thoughts and prayers are with Ginia and Sarah and all of the family. May they always feel David’s presents with them through the Holy Spirit our Comforter.
Oh how my heart goes out to you today Ginia, ay the Lord hold you and carry you through this day. Love you hun…Heaven received a good servant of the Lord.
