Arlene Marie Thode Marcotte went home on April 26, 2022. She is in the eternal company of her husband Wayne, son Ronald and granddaughter Lauren. There are many angels flying high today.
Mom was born on June 18, 1941 to Henry and Clarice Thode in Red Lake Fall, MN as one of five children. She lived in Red Lake falls until she married her soul mate Wayne on June 17, 1961. They began their life together and lived at several homes in Louisiana, Kansas and Texas before finally settling in Jacksonville to raise their family
Arlene had a decades long career in the banking industry working for First Federal Savings & Loan in Thief River Falls, MN then moved to Arkansas through Wayne’s Air Force Service. After relocating to Arkansas, she worked for Citizens Bank, Worthen Bank, Boatman’s Bank, and Bank of America where she attained the title of Vice President. She retired from banking in 1999 but could not stay away. She then started working part-time at L’Oréal USA Federal Credit Union until Wayne’s health took a turn in 2021.
Arlene was an avid bowler from 1961 to 2014 when her health took a slight detour. She also loved bird watching and especially loved her hummingbirds as well as the blue and yellow finches. She always kept Boston ferns we believe only for the sole reason that birds nested in them.
Another highlight in her life was the time spent with her grandkids. She was always willing to make time to shop, go to the movies or just grab lunch.
She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Clarice Thode, husband Wayne, son Ronald, granddaughter Lauren Reeves, brothers Roger Thode, David Thode and sister Joyce Matheny.
Survived by their daughters Cheryl Bajorek (Rob), Julie Reeves (David), grandsons Michael, Chris, and Matthew.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 10:00am at A Natural State Funeral Service; 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.
Arrangements entrusted to A Natural State Funeral Service. 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas, 72076. 501-982-3400.

Arlene was a very good friend, she will be deeply missed. Prayers to the family.
We had a lot of fun times bowling and being friends. I will miss her and her smile.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your families. God Bless!
I met Arlene through bowling. She was on my team, the Pin Pals. We probably laughed and visited more than we bowled, but we always had a good time. I loved hearing her stories about growing up in Minnesota. One that I will always remember is hearing about the heavy snowfalls. She said they would heat a quarter and press it to the window, which in turn melted a hole in the snow, so they could see when the school bus was there. Arlene was a kind and loving woman. She loved her family. Arlene was a good friend, and she will be missed. Prayers for her family as they go through this difficult time. ❤️
Cheryl, so sorry to read about the loss of your Mother. I’m sure she was very proud of you and I hope you know I’m thinking of you and your family during this time of sadness. Blessing to you all
Now we’ll miss both Wayne and Arlene, but we’re happy they’re together again. Our prayers to your family.
May your family find peace in God’s love. I worked with Arlene at Citizens Bank and always loved and admired her. She was an amazing friend.
Loved Arlene. She was on our bowling team Pin Pals. We had a lot of fun acting silly we will miss her
I always enjoyed Arlene, as well as Wayne, during our time together. Over the past 10 years, I have heard so many stories about the grandkids. I am so grateful that we spent a little extra time visiting after last week’s massage.
I first met Arlene and Wayne at church, then had the pleasure moving 2 houses down from them. We throughly enjoyed spending time with them! I will surely miss stopping by and getting a laugh from your dad or a hug from your mom.
What a wonderful friend Arlene was. I bowled with her and we had so much fun. I will miss her.
What a surprise to hear my oldest sister died last week. We have not always seen eye to eye on matter being I was almost so years younger than her. But, we did talk regularly and get together when Arlene came home to Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. She will be missed and was a part of my life. Prayers and blessing to the family of Arlene.
My caring, prayers, & sympathy to all Arlene’s family. I learned of her death today, & my remembrances of Arlene as a classmate in Red Lake Falls come to mind. I so enjoyed watching the video of her life – a happy & successful life filled with the years we were young, and the years with her obviously beautiful family. Blessings to each of you.
